Hello
I understand that in order to work with a trainer or behaviourist we both need to gel! That is crucial because the emotional weight of working with a dog is so great. It is a life changing decision and it is a relationship we nurture for weeks or months.
For that reason I want to give to you some free resources. It will give you a feel for my ethics, how I work, and my stance in the dog training and behaviour world.
My Story
I am Tanya and I have a mixed background. I am typical of an ADHDer in that I love to deep dive , I love to learn and I have a strong sense of justice. I also have such a multitude of qualifications but the one consistent theme in my life? Dogs. It's the area that I never tire of.
I was a Police Officer for 10 years. I am a certified marketer and I am part of the Canine Behaviour Cllege because I tried so many different dog training courses and that one was the highest level, and it was a direct path to being a behaviour consultant that is actually regulated. Most dog trainers aren't.
I won't lie. I support you fully. But i am here for the dogs. Their welfare is my priority. I can read dogs much better than people. Dogs are easy. It is science. People are more complicated as we are the only species that can say one thing but mean another. We mask, we can be fake, we lie. Dogs do not. I ask if you want to work with me you just be honest. I appreciate straight talk. If you are overwhelmed just say. If you are anxious - I get it. We are human. Our emotions are normal. We don't need to hide them. But I am very pro moving forwards and I am very goal orientated. Therefore, it is important to me I ensure we are the right fit for one another before we work together.
